Critics' Choice Shorts & Series Awards to celebrate India’s lockdown shows

iGlobal Desk

The nominations for short films and series for the 2021 edition of India’s Critics' Choice Shorts & Series Awards (CCSSA) covers a wide range of subjects and talents.

Now in its third year, the Film Critics Guild and Motion Content Group in collaboration with Vistas Media Capital unite once again for the highly-anticipated awards to honour artistes and technicians behind feature films, web series and short films across all Indian languages. The unique aspect of the awards is that it has been created to honour all mediums of storytelling in India.

Film critic Anupama Chopra, Chairperson of the Film Critics Guild, said: “It’s been a watershed year for entertainment. Despite the gargantuan odds of 2020, great stories have survived and thrived. The upcoming awards ceremony is a celebration of these stories that have sustained us!"

Sudip Sanyal, Business Head – Motion Content Group India, added: “In such a period of unprecedented unpredictability, the one thing which has been consistently outstanding is content available in our country.

“This year has seen the audience enjoy some fantastic content across the country and languages at home across devices. It is only natural for us then to applaud the nominees, as chosen by the Film Critics Guild, and congratulate the eventual winners of 2020.”

While the date of the awards ceremony is yet to be announced, the shortlist is as follows:
