Rani Mukerji is back on the big screens next month in a powerful character of Mrs Chatterjee to essay the real-life struggles of an NRI mother brutally separated from her children.

The much-awaited trailer of Ashima Chibber's directorial venture ‘Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway’ dropped last week to widespread acclaim within the Indian film industry.

Mukerji, the star of Bollywood box-office hits such as ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Saathiya’, has time and again impressed audiences with a range of performances. This time she plays a fierce woman fighting against the system as she takes on an entire Norwegian government to be reunited with her children.

Mukerji says: “Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is very special. I can’t wait to see the reactions of my fans on the trailer.”

Produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment of Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani, the film is slated to release in theatres on March 17.

Producer Nikkhil Advani of Emmay Entertainment, said: “It is a matter of pride and responsibility with which we have made our film and are delighted to bring the inimitable Rani Mukerji to our audiences.”

Shariq Patel, CBO, Zee Studios, added: "Zee Studios is committed towards backing content-driven and provocative stories and 'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway' is just the right film.

“Partnering with Rani and Emmay (Emmay Entertainment) on such an important film, that's based on a true incident and conveys the hardship of a mother who went against an entire country for her children, was creatively enriching."

For Rani Mukerji, March promises to be a particularly busy month with her memoir scheduled for release on her birthday, March 21. It promises to be a deeply personal, disarmingly honest account of the 44-year-old actor’s inspiring journey.

Mukerji said of her memoir: "In the 25 years that I have so lovingly spent in the Indian film industry, I have never spoken my heart out about my life and my journey in cinema. As women in cinema, we are constantly judged and the book delves into my personal trials and tribulations and the impact it had on me, as I navigated the industry and my career.

“I haven't had the time to pause, look back on my life, retrospectively and introspectively. This memoir was my way of reminiscing what I have been through right from my childhood. This one's for my fans and for every single person who has given me boundless love and kept me grounded. I look forward to their reactions when this book releases on my birthday, making the day even more special."
