India vs England first cricket Test match action in full swing

iGlobal Desk

An India versus England cricket Test series after a pandemic-induced hiatus has focussed cricket lovers on the first of a five-match series as it got underway in Nottingham this week.

With a roaring start, the Indian openers have dominated the English bowlers in the first session. But a rather unexpected turn of events during the second day has now hooked all the attention towards the final outcome of the game this weekend.

Rain played spoil sport too, as the second day had to be halted at several points. Later in the session, India lost three wickets in quick succession, including Rohit Sharma taken out by Ollie Robinson. Indian captain Virat Kohli got out by James Anderson.

KL Rahul notched up an impressive 50 on the score board, as he displayed good form for his Test comeback.

Earlier, Kohli told 'Sky Sports' what it takes to win a Test series in England: "It takes relentless madness and pursuit of excellence every day over a five-Test series…"

And, there is a lot for Joe Root’s England side to avenge, following a 3-1 defeat in their series in India earlier this year.

Unless the rain gods have other plans, the weekend promises to be action packed at Trent Bridge.
