Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met several world leaders on the sidelines of the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok.

On Friday, the PM met the Prime Minister of Nepal, KP Sharma Oli, where the two leaders reviewed the "unique and close relationship" between India and Nepal, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The meeting marked the second meet between the two leaders since PM Oli took charge last year.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the progress in enhancing physical and digital connectivity, people-to-people linkages, and in the domain of energy.

PM Modi and PM Oli agreed to continue working towards further deepening the multifaceted partnership between our two countries and peoples.

Calling PM Modi a dear friend, Nepal's PM KP Sharma Oli said on X that the discussions between the two of them were very fruitful and positive. He expressed gratitude on their meeting.

Earlier, the PM also met with the Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, who said that he considers Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his mentor and elder brother who has done much for the ties between two countries.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Tobgay said that PM Modi has been "extremely kind to him." He also talked about the support offered by the Indian government and PM Modi in Bhutan's 13th five-year plan.

On being asked how the ties between two nations have evolved under PM Modi, Tobgay said, "Where do I begin? I mean he has done so much for our relations, and this is no easy task because you must remember that.

Bhutan enjoys excellent relations with India historically, and then through all the decades of our friendship and our partnership and our development cooperation and for Prime Minister Modi to expand on their relationship. It's very difficult and it really began with neighbourhood first. I would imagine that his not just his hands of friendship, but open friendship to all neighbourhood countries was offered, and I'm sure some of them have accepted it. In Bhutan's case, it was only natural we accepted and therefore, our friendship has become stronger by leaps and bounds."

PM Modi also met with Myanmar's Senior General Min Aung Hliang where they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences on the loss of lives and property in the wake of the earthquake on March 28.

Earlier on Thursday, the Indian PM and his Thailand counterpart Paetongtarn Shinawatra held bilateral talks on Thursday and discussed ways to further strengthen political exchanges, defence and security partnership and strategic engagement between the two countries.
