A quick & easy vitamin-boosting Pineapple Beet Smoothie

Sujata Din

Beetroots are a good source of plant iron. And in order to help our body to absorb iron we also need Vitamin C, which is available in this smoothie, as beets are also a source of Vitamin C, and so are pineapple and kale or spinach.

Pineapple gives this smoothie a refreshing sweet taste, so you don’t need to add in any sugar.

I love it because it’s quick and easy to make with ingredients that are easy to find. If you don’t have kale readily available where you live, use baby spinach instead.

The mistake, I see many make when having smoothies is that are made just with fruit, which means they are high in sugar and even though fruits are a natural sugar, they may cause a sugar spike. My smoothies are balanced as contain fibre, protein and healthy fats so leave you feeling satisfied.
