Krish Arora, a Year 6 student in the UK, recently made headlines when he earned a coveted spot in Mensa – the high-IQ society reserved for the intellectual elite. With an IQ score of 162, Krish has surpassed even Albert Einstein’s score of 160.
"I feel extremely proud and privileged to be accepted at Mensa," says the 10-year-old from London.
Krish's love for numbers is evident in everything he does. His favourite subject at school is mathematics, which he describes as "playing with numbers." But what’s intriguing is the way he connects it to his other passion: music.
"Maths helps me with my music. There’s a strong correlation between maths and music," Krish explains. This might be one reason his piano teacher believes he has the gift of absolute hearing – the rare ability to the ability to play a pitch without a cue or any external reference. While he is already able to read sheet music, Krish can just as easily perform complex piano pieces entirely from memory and plays the likes of the Grade 8 piece Valse by Chopin with spellbinding finesse.
Krish’s prodigious talents were evident from an early age. His parents recall that by four, he could read fluently, spell accurately, and tackle complex decimal divisions.

"That’s when we noticed the first sparks," says his father, Nischal Arora, an engineer and MBA graduate.
Raising an exceptionally gifted child, however, comes with its challenges.
“He is very curious, always asking questions. It is equally a pleasure. He will ask all kinds of questions - relevant and irrelevant. The challenge is that you have to keep your grey cells active. But it is equally rewarding to cherish and enjoy his achievements,” says his mother, Mauli Arora, who is also an engineer.
While Krish’s intellectual feats make headlines, those close to him are quick to highlight another side of his personality - his kindness and generosity. “He’s a very gentle soul,” his parents say. This warmth extends to his passions outside of academics and music, including tennis, golf, and even word games.
As for the future, Krish remains grounded yet ambitious. "I could be a pianist, or I could do something in maths. But I think I like maths a little more," he shares thoughtfully.

The news of Krish’s accomplishments has spread far beyond his school and local community. His grandmother in India beams with pride, and his story is trending on Indian social media. Back in the UK, his parents reflect on their journey of 24 years in their adopted home, marvelling at how Krish has built his own legacy at such a young age.
With a natural aptitude for problem-solving, an ear for music, and an insatiable curiosity for the world around him, Krish Arora is truly a prodigy to watch. Whether he chooses to delve deeper into the world of numbers or enchant audiences with his piano skills, one thing is certain - this young genius is just getting started.
