
The trailer of the highly anticipated horror ‘Maa’ starring Kajol has already sent a chill down our collective spines ahead of its month-end
R. Madhavan a.k.a. ‘Shaitaan’ (Devil) made a surprise appearance at the trailer launch event of the film recently, introducing this much-awaited mythological horror set in the world of ‘Shaitaan’. This exciting duo has now come together for a candid conversation discussing the two bone chilling films and the Ajay Devgn connection.
In the candid conversation, Kajol opens up about her love for Maa Kali and how it was one of the driving forces for her to get on board for the movie. Maa is a first of its kind mythological horror deeply rooted in the ancient tale of Maa Kali and her strength and how she is the ultimate protector.
Talking about the movie Kajol says: “What hit me the most was and I wanted to do the movie because of Maa Kali. I love her and she is ‘Maa’ in my head and I always felt like her hand was on my head.

“She is always behind me and that was one of the reasons why I adored the script and of course the script was excellent. When we first heard the script we were sure it was going to be a fantastic film.”
Madhavan candidly also spoke how he was spooked out during shooting certain scenes in ‘Shaitaan’. His character had stolen the spotlight and given us sleepless haunting nights.
While shooting a particular scene Maddy reveals: “The scene where I make the daughter dance the entire night and she can't hold her bladder anymore and she pees. So as a villain if I see it the entire messaging changes so I had to think what can I do differently and change the feeling into disgust.
“So I covered my face with a sheet so I didn't have to see it. There were certain scenes that made me uncomfortable but I did find my way out of it.”

Kajol and Madhavan also spoke about the common Ajay Devgn connection, both appreciating his his professionalism and the unbeatable aura he has.

The film is set for a theatrical release on June 27.
