True events inspired ‘State of Siege: Temple Attack’ set for ZEE5 premiere

‘State of Siege: 26/11’ was among the early web series to be released as the pandemic hit the world last year. It was scripted as a tribute to the brave Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country in a deadly terrorist attack on Delhi’s Parliament in 2001 and went on to become one of the most talked about shows.

Earlier this year, ZEE5 announced a film as an extended tribute to the Indian soldiers, continuing the legacy of the Siege series. Now, the ZEE5 Global original film titled ‘State of Siege: Temple Attack’, inspired by true events, is set for its premiere this week on July 9.

Director Ken Ghosh said: “This is not just a film, it is a tribute to the NSG [National Security Guard] commandos of India who are always ready to risk their lives to protect us.

“As a son of a naval officer, I have grown up in awe of our armed forces. In ‘State of Siege: Temple Attack’, we have tried our best to give a fitting tribute to our heroes and I cannot wait for the release of the film on ZEE5.”
The makers of the film released the teaser of the film recently, which showcased the sheer will and determination to save the lives of innocent people and successfully capture/kill terrorists of the NSG in India. This film is crafted as a peek into the behind the scenes action of a dreadful temple attack.

Actor Akshaye Khanna (pictured) is back in uniform after many years since his war film ‘Border’, along with Vivek Dahiya as an NSG commando and Gautam Rode.

Contiloe Pictures and Abhimanyu Singh, the team behind the web series ‘State of Siege: 26/11’, is back to produce the film.

The teaser starts with a voiceover of a terrorist who is willing to kill everyone for their mission. The script depicts how people were trapped by the terrorist and kept hostage while the NSG commandos took charge of the situation and saved lives.

The film will be screened on ZEE5, the digital entertainment platform launched by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL). The platform launched across 190+ countries in October 2018 and has content across 18 languages – Hindi, English, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Punjabi, and also six international languages of Malay, Thai, Bahasa, German, Russian and Arabic.
