Madhya Pradesh prepares to welcome global Indians for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2023

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated once every two years to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with the government of India and reconnect them with their roots.

During the Convention, selected overseas Indians are also honoured with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award in recognition of their contributions to various fields both in India and abroad.

The 17th PBD Convention will be held between 8 and 10 January 2023 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The theme of the 17th PBD is ‘Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal’.

The PBD coincides with January 9 to commemorate the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to India in 1915. To mark this day, the tradition of celebrating PBD started in 2003 to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community to the development of India. It is backed by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and other key Indian organisations.

Group Registration

Besides registering individually, the PBD website has a provision for Group Registration where a minimum of 10 members are required to register as a group. Special Discounts are available for group registrations. Missions would play an important role in facilitating the Group Registration.

Queries related to registration are already answered in the FAQ section of the website here.
