Talking through speech and language therapy

Sunita Shah has been a speech and language therapist for over 22 years, including with the National Health Service (NHS). She is the National Advisor for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy and delivers training for the NHS and other organisations on supporting bilingual children with communication difficulties.

In this iGlobal Radio exclusive, she talks about the process of supporting families of children with speech, language and communication difficulties. As the author of the Jai Jais series of children’s books rooted in Indian religious narratives, Shah strongly believes that the early development of good language and communication skills is very important in shaping a child’s life journey. It opens the door to all other learning and gives a young person confidence in social situations.
