The Vedic Organisation for Indian Culture and Education (VOICE), an education project of the World Council of Hindus UK dedicated to preserving and promoting Indian culture through music, Vedic philosophy and education, hosted an inspiring classical recital by two talented young singers.
Viraj and Jay showcased the timeless style of the late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi at the event aptly entitled 'Parampara' – which means tradition. The event, supported by SAJDA, Kannada Sangha North UK and Manchester Marathi Mandal, was a celebration of Indian classical music and its rich heritage passed down the generations.
Professor Nawal Prinja, VOICE Trustee, highlighted two unique aspects of the event: “Firstly, the launch of two young singers in their debut UK recital. Secondly, the presence of the first Consul General of India appointed to Manchester.
“VOICE eagerly anticipates welcoming more international artists to promote Indian culture and values.”
VOICE, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of students, performers, and thinkers, offers comprehensive training in music, culture, and Vedic philosophy. This was perfectly showcased at 'Parampara', where the legacy of Indian classical music was brought to life.
