This proved a defining moment in Hardeep’s life when he realised that no amount of wealth could reverse a disability. He was approached some years later by Shane Bratby (Friedreich’s Ataxia sufferer) who explained the countless challenges and judgements that disabled people face when attempting to raise investment for their business ideas.
This approach from Shane inspired Hardeep to combine his experience and background as an investor and entrepreneur together with Shane’s knowledge of the disability community and Kaleidoscope Investments (Ki) was born. The aim of Ki was to invest in disabled people with great business ideas and help them to start their own businesses.
“It’s important not be afraid to approach people with disability, to just ask,” Rai tells Reena Ranger.
