Emran Hashmi makes digital debut with spooky ‘Dybbuk’ for Halloween

Prime Video has released the teaser of its upcoming horror film ‘Dybbuk: The Curse is Real’, starring Emran Hashmi and Nikita Dutta.

The film marks the digital debut of Hashmi and is all set to release on October 29 on Amazon Prime Video.

Hashmi said: “Dybbuk will mark my first digital feature, and I am extremely excited to have taken this journey with my favourite genre and with Amazon Prime Video as the streaming partner.

“The film is well-crafted and has quite a few jump-scares with a great storyline. We are bringing this film to our audiences at a time when the scarefest will be in full swing owing to Halloween, and I can’t wait for audiences to enjoy ‘Dybbuk’ and make it a part of their watchlist for the season”

Written and Directed by Jay K, the upcoming Amazon Original film is the official remake of 2017 Malayalam blockbuster film ‘Ezra’ and the music is given by Clinton Cerejo. While keeping the Halloween spirit alive, the teaser sets the tone for the season of scare!

“With Dybbuk, the audiences will witness a pure-play horror film, and I can assure you that this film will stay with the audiences for a long time,” said Jay K.

“The film’s storyline is gripping and explores a subject that hasn’t been exposed as much. At the heart of the film is the Jewish mythology and culture, the film is designed keeping in mind the authenticity of the culture and the genre,” he said.

Along with Emraan, who makes his return to his favourite horror genre, this film also features Nikita Dutta and Manav Kaul in prominent roles. The spooky teaser sees Nikita’s character opening a Dybbuk box that has trouble written all over it, what follows next is a series of terrifying events that will keep the audiences at the edge of their seats.
