Why you needn’t give up your favourite foods to feel fit

Why you needn’t give up your favourite foods to feel fit

So many people make the mistake of giving up their favourite foods to lose weight. They are looking for results quickly, but unfortunately these often don't last long term.

Some common foods that people reduce or avoid when doing quick fix diets are pasta, pizza, rice, roti, wraps, cookies, cake, chocolate or savoury snacks like Bombay mix.

Or at times people join diet programs; it's overwhelming as there are so many to chose from. Some popular diets are intermittent fasting, counting calories, having protein shakes, keto, paleo, Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Cambridge Diet, etc.

I get messages from people all over the world who want to lose weight. What they tell me is that they've done so many different programs and still nothing seems to work for them.

And I understand this, as my clients who previously tried everything found that they could only do these diets for a short time and then the weight crept back up.

The reason I bring this up is, that now more than ever before, we all know that our health is a priority. And we also know that being overweight or obese increases the risk of many diseases including Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.

You don’t need me (or anyone else) telling you how important it is for you to look after yourself better and get to your optimum weight.

But, at the same time, this is something I know many struggle to do on their own, because they don’t know what to do and how to make these changes.

And maybe you've tried doing it on your own too, you made a smoothie for breakfast or a salad for lunch, but that just was not enough to show you results.

Maybe, you did it for a few days or weeks and then went back to your old habits.

So, you then tried the diet thing, maybe it was counting calories, reducing sugar or grains, and even had a go at Keto or intermittent fasting… but you still were not seeing results.

Then, when you get to this point you probably begin to wonder "Do I have a slow metabolism or is it my age?"

It's not your fault that the short term diets haven't worked.

I want to ask you about what you are currently doing, is it something you enjoy, something that fits into your everyday life and that you can continue with for the rest of your life?
