Prediabetes doesn’t wait and neither should you. Some of the factors that increase risk of type 2 diabetes are:
Are you over 40 years old
Family history of diabetes
South Asian, or a high-risk ethnic background
Gained weight, particularly around your belly
High waist-to-hip ratio
Sedentary lifestyle
Struggle with poor sleep
Constant stress
Diagnosed with gestational diabetes or PCOS
High blood pressure or high cholesterol
Smoker or former smoker
If you have been diagnosed as having high sugar levels, then every day you delay taking action, silent damage is happening inside your body. Untreated diabetes can lead to devastating consequences: loss of eyesight, kidney damage, heart disease and even amputations.
But you have the power to take control and no you don’t have to do it by starving yourself or cutting out all your favourite foods like:
· Home-cooked foods like thepla, roti with daal and sabji
· Fresh salads loaded with colourful vegetables
· Occasionally enjoyed chips and even a bagel but with balance and awareness
· Real food, real life, no extreme diets, no guilt
The secret is not about cutting out all carbs. It is about learning how to balance meals with:
· Enough protein to stabilise blood sugar
· Healthy fats to keep her full
· Fibre to slow sugar absorption
· Portion to keep her satisfied.

Because here's the truth:
Carbs are not the only reason your sugar levels rise.
Other powerful factors include:
· High BMI
· Waist-to-hip ratio (belly fat)
· Sedentary lifestyle
· Family history and genetics
· Too many processed, refined foods
· Poor sleep, chronic stress, hidden nutrient deficiencies
If you only "cut carbs" but don’t fix the real causes, you will:
· Waste time trying random things that don’t work
· Feel frustrated and stuck
· Risk your blood sugar getting worse quietly — which can be dangerously irreversible later
When you fix the root cause with the right education and support, everything changes. If you or someone you love has prediabetes, diabetes, or is worried about sugar levels… Please don’t ignore it. The earlier you act, the easier it is to reverse and protect your future. But if you delay, the damage becomes harder to undo. Your health is your future!
