Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a State Visit to Brazil after participating in the BRICS Summit, received a warm ceremonial welcome at the Alvorada Palace in Brazil this week.

He was accorded a warm ceremonial welcome in Brasilia.

Upon his arrival, he shared a unique moment of enjoying a harmonium performance along with the Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

PM Modi enjoyed the Indian classical musical presentation which used traditional instruments such as the Harmonium and Tabla at his ceremonial welcome at Alvorada Palace in Brasilia. PM Modi appreciated the performance and greeted the performers with a gesture of folded hands.

The Indian Prime Minister was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour, with a unique 114-horse welcome, followed by the national anthems of India and Brazil.

Earlier, PM Modi was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Brasilia airport with the Batala Mundo band performing traditional Afro-Brazilian compositions.

The Indian community in Brazil was also present at the airport to greet the Prime Minister. He spent time interacting with members of the Indian diaspora, including children who had gathered waving the tricolour to welcome him.

PM Modi will hold bilateral discussions with the Brazilian President on broadening the Strategic Partnership between India and Brazil in areas of mutual interest, including trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and people-to-people linkages.

It follows the Rio de Janeiro leg of his visit to Brazil, which the Indian PM described as "productive" after he held extensive deliberations at the BRICS Summit. PM Modi stated that his bilateral meetings with world leaders will boost India's friendship with various nations.

"The Rio leg of my Brazil visit was very productive. We had extensive deliberations at the BRICS Summit. I compliment President Lula and the Brazilian Government for the work they've done through their BRICS Presidency in making this platform even more effective. My bilateral meetings with world leaders will also boost India's friendship with various nations," he stated.
