Inspired by real events, ‘Ground Zero’ brings the gripping story of one of India’s most significant anti-terror operations when it hits cinemas on April 25.

The film traces the relentless two-year investigation led by Border Security Force (BSF) officer Dubey following the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, culminating in the identification of the mastermind, Ghazi Baba, and the execution of a historic counter-terror mission.

A story of intelligence, bravery, and sacrifice, Ground Zero uncovers the covert world of counterterrorism and the high-stakes missions that operate in the shadows — often unknown to the public, yet vital to national security.

Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the film is a high-intensity action drama that blends realism with cinematic scale, offering a pulse-pounding experience that is both emotional and patriotic. The film paints a detailed portrait of the men and women who risk everything for the country, shedding light on the psychological, emotional, and moral toll of such missions.

Leading the cast is Emraan Hashmi (‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’, ‘The Dirty Picture’, ‘Tiger 3’), delivering a career-defining performance as Officer Dubey — a man torn between duty and personal cost. Alongside him, acclaimed actress Sai Tamhankar (‘Mimi’, ‘Love Sonia’) brings depth and resilience to her role, portraying a character who stands as both emotional anchor and a reflection of the human side of those in uniform.

At the trailer launch event held in Mumbai this week, Hashmi shared his thoughts on the project, stating: "Truth is stranger than fiction. This phrase is so appropriate for this story. I remember when I first met Dubey ji, whose character I’m playing, I told him the story is even more filmy than films. The way all these officers planned this operation and executed the final encounter in 2003, it’s extraordinary and unbelievable.”

Ritesh Sidhwani, one of the film's producers, added: “We knew about the attacks on the Parliament and Akshardham. But we didn’t know about the Jammu & Kashmir police and the BSF coming together for this operation.”
