 Indian start-ups bolstering UK-India techXchange

Fintech, logistics, healthcare, retail and manufacturing were among the sectors in focus at this year’s techXchange, a unique platform that supports mature start-ups from India through their global expansion journey and helps them make inroads into the UK business ecosystem.  

As the UK and India continue move towards the eighth round of negotiations for towards an a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the collaborative efforts of the High Commission of India in London and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) collaborated on the fourth edition of techXchange earlier this month.

Innovation & tech in sharp focus at India Global Forum UAE

During a grand inaugural ceremony at the India House in London, Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami focused on the future opportunities of tech businesses in the UK. An esteemed panel comprising of the Chief Scientific Adviser at the UK Department of International Trade Mike Short, Venture Partner at Merian Ventures Priya Guha MBE, Founder of Tech London Advocates & Global Tech Advocates Russ Shaw CBE and Vice President of HCL Technologies Ashish Arora drew attention to “Networking and R&D collaborations” during an engaging discussion.  

Over a period of five days, ecosystem players like Scale Space, Imperial College, Level 39,  London & Partners, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, University of Leeds, University of Dundee and Innovation Birmingham welcomed the founders of the selected start-ups.

India climbs up to fourth on Global Entrepreneurship Monitor

The 2023 techXchange cohort was made up of: 

  • Founder Jayakanth Kesan of zMed Healthcare Technologies bringing overseas the IoT and networking technologies to automatically integrate data from medical devices in ICUs and laboratory reports and medical images.   

  • Bangalore based Edtech startup AntWalk, founded by Sudhanshu Shekhar to aid companies handle employee productivity, attrition and internal mobility challenges with a Talent Operating System in place.  

  • Founder of cloud-based e-commerce platform CommerceUp, Piyush Pathak suiting up to connect brands with consumers through sustainable and scalable digital transformations for their online stores.  

  • Muralidhar Somisetty’s Wellnesys introduces the world to its first smart yoga mat YogiFi with a built-in activity tracker, posture corrector, personal motivator and yoga sessions curated by experts for disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity and more.  

  • From the environmental conscious space, Strata Enviro by Amol Chaphekar designs and manufactures outdoor air pollution controllers to curb pollution levels across the world. While LivNSense by Avnish Kumar centres around deep decarbonisation with its award-winning AI based SaaS platform GreenOps that reduces GHG carbon reductions by twenty percent.  

  • Mahesh Ranganathan of Knowledge Lens is on a mission to develop solutions in AI, Industrial IoT, Blockchain and Cloud.
